The recent Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) data has shown that employers in the UK are increasingly turning to temporary staff to fill jobs in the face of economic uncertainty and labour shortages. In the fourth quarter of 2022, the confidence in the UK economy and ability to invest in businesses fell surpassing the previous pandemic-related record lows from June 2020. Despite this drop in confidence, the immediate outlook for hiring remains positive for both permanent and temporary workers.
